Now 'chairs scam' likely to rock BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 8: After top BJP leaders caught in camera for allegedly trying bribe media persons at Leh, the allegation strongly denied by the party, 'chairs scam' is likely to be exposed within Saffron Party very soon. Credible sources in the BJP said that during the just concluded Parliamentary polls in the State, party leadership had hired a contractor from outside J&K to supply chairs and related materials during public rallies of the senior leaders especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president Amit Shah and other central leaders. In every rally, fewer chairs were hired from outside the state but in official documents of the party number of chairs arranged for star campaigners meeting were shown much hire. Credible sources said that during two public meetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-one at Jammu and second at Kathua, not more than 25000 chairs were hired from the same contractors but in papers numbers of chairs were shown in lakhs by some leaders just to pocket money. Same is the story during party president Amit Shah's rally at Udhampur where only five thousand chairs were hired from outside the state but numbers entered in the official documents were much higher. Credible sources that a coterie within the party has taken all control of funds sanctioned by the party high command for Parliamentary elections. This coterie, which claimed as nationalist and honest, is availing all opportunities to swindle party funds through its touts in the party. |
