JAMMU, May 8: Chairman Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Committee, Suraj Parkash Padha today convened a meeting of Swachh Bharat Mission Committee members.
The members of the committee Councilors Yash Paul Sharma, Hardeep Singh Mankotia, Jyoti Devi, Gopal Gupta, Rachpaul Bhardwaj, Mohi-Ud-Din Choudhary, Inder Singh Sudan, Sandhya Gupta and Pardeep Manhas, Joint Commissioner (A)/Nodal Officer Swachh Bharat Mission along with Dr Zaffar Iqbal, MVO/ Nodal Officer, Solid Waste Management and Zorawar Singh, expert attended the meeting.
During the meeting several issues were discussed particularly ways and means to improve the Solid Waste Management (SWM) and its awareness in JMC limits.
All the Councilors gave their suggestions during the meeting. Joint Commissioner(A) Pardeep Singh Manhas, assured all the Councilors that JMC will redress the issues in time bound manner and explained the ongoing Solid Waste Management awareness activities in several schools with proper schedule under the supervision of Dr Zaffar Iqbal.
Swachh Bharat Mission Committee members suggested to aware the people wardwise by involving Resident Welfare Associations under the supervision of concerned ward councilor.
The Chairman appreciated the ongoing awareness and directed that enhance the awareness by way of local TV channels, print media and door to door cleanliness drive. |
