Udhampur, May 10: District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, convened a meeting with District Level Special Task Force under National Green Tribunal Municipal Solid Waste Management rules 2016, to discuss and devise strategy for disposal of Solid waste in Udhampur Town here yesterday.
Threadbare discussion was held regarding various aspects of Solid Waste Management plan like present status of Garbage disposal, installation of water point, minimizing use of plastic, plastic seizures, ban on polythene in melas, set up of segregation in rural areas, constitution of ward level committees and awareness generation groups, etc.
Additional District Development Commis-sioner, Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Comm-issioner, Gurvinderjeet Singh, GM DIC, Suram Chand Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development, Neelam Khajuria, Auqaf Admin-istrator, Er Sajad Bashir Somberia, District Social Welfare Officer, Sana Khan, Chief Education Officer, Daljit Singh and other district officers of various departments besides representatives of different NGOs and members of civil society attended the meeting. |
