Health official 'who treated HM militants' questioned | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Jammu, May 10: The security agencies on Friday grilled a Medical Assistant who allegedly treated a Hizbul Mujahideen militant Raiz Ahmed alias Hazari who is wanted by the Kishtwar police. As per the details available with Early Times, the Medical Assistant, identified as Jagdish Kumar, was picked up by the security forces from Jammu and later shifted to Dachhan area where he had allegedly treated the militant. The sources said Kumar had treated the militant in a hideout around Kibbar Nallah in Dachhan. SSP Kishtwar Shakti Pathak had also visited the Dachhan and interacted with the locals and assessed the security situation in the area which has witnessed a surge in militancy. A former intelligence official who served in Kishtwar told the Early Times that the name of the said Health employee had also surfaced few years ago and at that time he had treated longest surviving Hizb commander Jahinger Saroori in 2013-14. But despite giving specific information, the officials at the helm of the affairs at that time did not act against him. Despite repeated attempts, senior police officials in Kishtwar district could not be reached for comment. |
