| 285 Kgs of Bhukki detected at Toll Post Lakhanpur | | |
JAMMU, May 25: The Vigilant officers/officials of Excise Department at Toll Post Lakhanpur foiled a major attempt of smuggling out Bhukki (Poppy Straw) from the State, when they detected a consignment of 285 Kgs (Approx) Bhukki in a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK01P-8720 declared as the fresh apple.
Later the vehicle along with Bhukki was handed over to the SHO Police Station, Lakhanpur for further action under the instant legal provision.
The whole operation was supervised by Ashish Kumar Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur and carried out by Excise and Taxation Officers Aamir Aiyaz Rather along with a team of Excise Inspectors Rajinder Kumar, Excise Sub-Inspectors Ajaz Ahmed Lala and Excise Guard Rakesh Kumar. M. Raju, IAS, Excise Commissioner, J&K Government appreciated the efforts of a team of Toll Post Lakhanpur in detecting the contraband and also enjoined them to work with more zeal and enthusiasm and to carry these types of special drives more in future to thwart the nefarious design of smugglers. |
