Udhampur: CEO accused of favouritism | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 25: In the wake of indiscriminate attachments of teachers in various educational zones in district Udhampur and giving them clerical charge, the clerical staff of the district is up in arms against the Chief Education Officer, accusing him of making these attachments for 'ulterior motives'. The clerical staff has alleged that most of the teachers which are attached in different ZEO offices or CEO office are given charge of clerks who look after all the affairs of the zone and have close proximity with the concerned officers due to which the existing clerical staff is ignored. "The syndrome of giving clerical charge to attached teachers has gripped the entire district, which has created strong resentment among the clerical circle who alleged of being sidelined which has also led to series of protests against the CEO Udhampur for not sorting out the issues," sources told Early Times. They said the office of CEO Udhampur had issued a circular regarding detachment of teaching staff and taking charges back from the teaching staff vide his office circular No: CEOU/E-3/46903- 47023, dated 11-02-2019. But the order was not implemented for obvious reasons. The issue was brought again into the notice of CEO on various occasions, but all in vain. "Over dozen teachers are attached in various zones including ZEO office Tikri, ZEO office Dudu, ZEO office Majalta, ZEO office Panchari, ZEO office Ramnagar etc. Similarly, nearly a dozen master grade teachers, incharge headmaster, incharge lecturer are attached with the CEO office Uhampur," sources added. |
