MPEJ criticizes Kashmiri leaders for criticizing de-limitation commission | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice have criticized the Kashmiri leaders for raising hue and cry over reports of constitution of de-limitation commission. According to press release, Ram Singh Chauhan and Kuldeep Kumar Rao, this sort of mind set of Kashmiri leaders speaks volumes as to how sincere they are when it comes to granting justice to the people in terms of their population, area, accessibility, literacy or other parameters of backwardness? "No doubt, the freeze has been imposed by Government of India in increasing or decreasing any Assembly or Parliamentary constituency till 2026 but in J&K state, this freeze has been further enhanced to "after next censes" in the country by an amendment No: 29 of 2002 in the state constitution by the then Farooq Abdullah Government the release said and thus questioned the rationale behind delaying the formation of De-limitation commission", they said, adding that the De-limitation never means increase or decrease in Assembly or Parliamentary constituency, it inherently means re-adjustment or re-adjustment of areas, rotation of reserved seats for SC/STs and other weaker sections of society. No such freeze has been imposed by Government of India in respect our state. |
