| JPPF demands constitution of delimitation commission | | |

JAMMU, June 5: Demanding the immediate constitution of Delimitation Commission to redraw the boundaries of assembly segments, Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) has urged the Centre Government and the Governor to readdress the Jammuites grievances as they have been deceived by the all successive governments. Hailing the Union Minister for Home Amit Shah for his keen interest on the issue of Jammu & Kashmir, the president JPPF Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj said that in his very first meeting Amit Shah has taken up the issue of delimitation and other issues including political empowerment of Jammu gained ground in the entire country. He vehemently pleaded for withdraw of 16 years freeze in carrying out the delimitation exercise in the state and appointment of delimitation commission without further delay to redraw the scope and size of the assembly segments and determine the number of seats. Hailing the Governor Satya Pal Malik and his Advisors for streamlining the state administration and providing transparent governance, the president said that the aspirations of Jammu regarding enhancement of assembly segments in the Jammu region have been fulfilled during the Governor rule in 1995 by the KK Gupta commission and at present the same will done under aegis of Governor himself.
JPPF stands for the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A to make India as a one nation besides it is hurdle in the rehabilitation of West Pakistani refugees, who are living here for last 70 years. |
