JKSAC welcomes proposal of de-limitation commission
6/5/2019 10:36:54 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 5: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) today hailed the proposal of de-limitation commission.
According to press release, a meeting of DPs of 1947 from POK at village Dasore, Tehsil R.S.Pura wherein, besides other prominent people, Sarpanch and Panches of halqa panchayat participated.
While addressing the meeting Gurdev Singh, President alongwith Netar Parkash Gen. Secy, highly appreciated the govt. for taking this bold step and termed the proposal for setting up of Delimitation Commission, a healthy and positive democratic move to end the injustice done to both Jammu and Ladakh region of the state. He said that DPs of 1947 from POK had been crying for the reservation of their seats since they were thrown out forcibly by the tribals from their native places, now under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
Even in early 90s when the assembly seats were raised from 76 to 87 at the recommendations of Justice K.K. Gupta Commission, JKSAC lodged a protest but the commission failed to address the concern of DPs. Again during Dr. Farooq's regime from 1996 to 2002, he was approached to undo the injustice but instead he chose to freeze delimitations of constituencies and deprived the DPs of their legitimate share of seats.
He further said that DPs of 1947 from POK are the worst victims of this political discrimination which spoiled the future of their generations to come.
Other who spoke Sunil Sharma (Sarpanch), Roshan Lal (Panch), Inder Kumar (Panch), Kundan Lal (Panch), Naresh Sharma (Panch), Satpal Sharma and Subash Chander.
