Dilapidated Baba Karla, Children's Park Road irks tourists | | | Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report
Udhampur, June 16: Baba Karla Road linking Children’s Park to National Highway at famous hill station of Patnitop is still in dilapidated condition though stakeholders have raised the issue many times before the concerned authorities. Locals and tourists told Early Times that the travelers on this road face a lot of problems while more are the problems being faced by the pedestrians using this road. "The road is very dirty and whenever some vehicle plies over it finds his or her clothes spoiled," Sunita Rani a local informed. She also said that during rainy days the situation becomes worst and the road turns muddy and very slippery. "During rainy days there even remains risk of slippery to the vehicles which may lead to a mishap," she maintained. Some frequent tourists informed that many times they visited the officer of the concerned departments but nothing fruitful has emerged so far. "Though the earlier government led by BJP and PDP had utterly failed to get the road repaired now we pin all the hopes on the Governor S.P Malik," Raju, a local said. Locals have appealed to the Government to get the road repaired as many tourists who are coming to this beautiful natural spot and the locals of the areas face many problems while children using this road too face many problems while they go to school via this road. |
