Police arrested notorious vehicle lifter/shop breaker, 30 vehicles stolen

Jammu, June 17: Police party led by ASI Kartar Singh along with Ct Sobat Ali and SPO Avinash Sharma was on Night patrolling duty, police party apprehended one suspect while he was breaking open the locks of a shop at Majeen. On this, Case FIR No. 248/2019 under section 379/511/RPC was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation set into motion.
During the course of sustained questioning, he disclosed his name as Darshan Singh alias Malothu son of Ramesh Singh, Caste Rajput R/O Vill. Marta Teh. Ramnagar Distt Udhampur & turned out to be a notorious vehicle lifter against whom 15 cases have already been registered in different Police Stations which include ; 10 different FIR's in PS Ramnagar , 2 different FIR's in PS Udhampur one FIR each in PS Chenani , PS Basantgarh and PS Pancheri .
On one occasion when police team went to arrest him, he attacked police party with axe. He has so terrorized people that he used to break 5/6 shops in one single night
On his disclosure, 01 Maruti Van no. JK14D/3744 has been recovered and more recoveries/arrests are expected within days. Police teams led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma along with SHO Nagrota and I/C PP Sidhra SI Parvez Ahmed Khandey made the arrest/recovery.
People have heaved a sigh of relief after his arrest and appreciated efforts of police for its proactive approach.
