Jammu, June 17: Emphasizing for availing the opportunity to have delimitation of assembly constituency in the state, BJP leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has ridiculed the demand of the Congress and its fellow travellers to have early elections to the State Assembly. In a statement, Prof. Gupta said that it was amazing that those who were responsible for wrought in various spheres of life and encouraged unlawful activities, were eager to achieve the selfish ends ignoring the fact that they boycotted the elections to the basic democracies which were meant to empower the people at the gross root level. Prof. Gupta said that it sound ridiculous to have elections without waiting for fair delimitation to ensure justice to all the regions and the communities who have been denied political representation over the decades. Moreover, when 24 seats have been reserved for Pak held areas and lakhs have been forced to migrate to become refugees, why this uprooted lot should not get their share out of the reserved seats, he added and questioned the sincerity of those who are opposed to this demand by having no valid reasons except being guided by the narrow communal and parochial outlook. |
