| Blood donation camp organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 20: Red Ribbon Club of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences in collaboration with J&K State Aids Control Society, Blood Transfusion Department Govt Medical College Jammu and Regional Red Cross Society Jammu organized a Blood donation camp at Red Cross Attendant Sarai Maheshpura Chowk.
The theme for blood donation camp was "Donate blood, Save life & Universal Access to Safe Blood Transfusion". Thirty six students of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences voluntary donated blood with great enthusiasm. The faculty members of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences Jammu who donated blood were Rajni Sharma (Asst. Prof SIPS) and Gurneet Kour (Nursing Tutor, SIPS). After donating the blood, refreshment was given to all the blood donors. Sonam Sharma (Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Clib SIPS) & Ritu Gupta (Assistant Prof & Activity Incharge SIPS) took keen initiative in organizing this camp.
Ritu Gupta gave the message to society especially the youth to come forward & contribute to the nation by donating blood and becoming saviour. She also told that it is beneficial for both the patient as well as the blood donor as it can reduce the risk of cancer, damage to liver & pancreas. |
