Anti-drug awareness programme held at Jhir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 20: An Anti-drug awareness programme was conducted by SHO Police Station Kahna Chak, Inspr. Romal Singh at Jhiri today. A Nukad Natak was organized in collaboration of District Police Jammu and Socio-Welfare Internal Society on drug de-addiction in which a large number of students and civilians of the area participated. A team of Socio-Welfare Internal Society headed by Pardeep Pandita showed participants through "display" that how the youth fell into drug evil and got addict of it. They were also told about prevention and rehabilitation through drug de-addiction centers. At the end of programme, SHO Police Station Kahna Chak delivered lecture to make the participants aware of drug menace and its harmful effects in the life. They were told about the Care for your Buddy programme (an initiative of District Police Jammu) and were encouraged to protect themselves and their friends against drug addiction. SHO inspired the youth to channelize their energy in a positive way instead of indulging in drug abuse. The participants were also told about the mobile number 9086100100 and were asked to share any drug peddling/drug addiction information on this on this number for legal action. |
