Early Times Report Jammu, June 23: "Better coordination among parents, teachers, Mohalla committee, Panchayats and police personnel is must to check growing influence of drug abuse among youth in the society," highlighted SSP, Jammu, Tejinder Singh while addressing gathering during a function on 'Drug Abuse' organized by Team Jammu at Jagat Resorts, Shakti Nagar here today. The program was organized as part of 'World Anti Drug Day' to be observed on June 26, however, keeping in view the suggestions of volunteers who is government and private services, the program was pre-pone and was organized today on Sunday. SSP, Jammu, Tejinder Singh (IPS) was the chief guest on the occasion, while Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal presided over the function. SP, City North, Amritpal Singh (SP), SP City, South, Vinay Sharma, SP, SOG, Jammu, Sandeep Mehta, eminent Journalist and senior Editor, Times Now Channel, Pardeep Dutta were Guest of Honour on the occasion. "10 to 15 per cent of our youth are drug addicts so remaining population of the society is duty bound to liberate this section from the yoke of this addiction. We are aggressively dealing with that 10 to 15 per cent involved in addiction or drug peddling but civil society as whole must come forward and saving remaining 85 to 90 percent youth from the menace of drug abuse", said SSP, Jammu, Tejinder Singh and further detailed series of program under way to make general public aware of the ill effects of drug abuse. |
