Jammu, June 23: Newly appointed working president of BJP J P Nadda has reportedly rejected suggestion of state BJP leaders to hold assembly elections as early as possible. Desperate to attain power once again, BJP leaders have reportedly pleaded before J P Nadda to convince Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to conduct assembly polls in J&K after Amarnath Yatra because some leaders finding it difficult to live without power. Credible sources said that BJP delegation which met Nadda on Saturday had tried to raise election issue before national working president but he refused to listen to their suggestions because BJP's central leadership is very much aware that a group with J&K BJP is desperate for assembly polls. Credible sources further revealed central leadership has suggested state unit leader to concentrate on issues pertaining to Jammu region so that discrimination with Jammu region would be ended once for all. "Instead of making strategy to solve Jammu related issues, state unit BJP leaders are more worried over enjoying power at any cost", sources said. As reported earlier a delegation of BJP leaders, led by state party president Ravinder Raina, on Saturday called on JP Nadda in New Delhi and apprised him of the prevailing political situation in the state. The BJP leaders held threadbare discussions regarding the various issues, including security arrangements for the Amarnath yatra. While discussing the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir, the delegation presented comprehensive details of the social and political situation prevailing in the state. The delegation said the nomination of Nadda as working national president of the party would ensure the smooth progression of organisational activities at the national level. It hoped that Nadda would continue to give personal attention to the state. |
