Yoga keeps heart healthy: Dr Sushil | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 23: Particularly emphasizing this year theme on International Yoga Day "Yoga for Heart", Dr.Sushil Sharma, conducted a day long camp at Bhatyari Village of tehsil Bishnah in order to draw attention of common populace towards the holistic benefits of yoga. Practicing yoga daily can help us build cardiovascular health boosts blood circulation, increases lung capacity, improves heart rate, and respiratory function. The benefits of regular yoga practices are many. The same has been understood by the western countries. Even though yoga was invented in India, it is spreading rapidly in other countries in comparison to India, he underlined. More than 350 people were screened, evaluated, diagnosed and free medicines were given as per the requirements. While interacting with the patients and attendants, Dr Sushil Sharma stressed that yoga assists in restoring equilibrium to the body and mind so that good health can flourish. It is particularly effective at dealing with stress-related disorders, because it works at both a physical and mental level. The asana (body postures) works on the physical body and the meditation practices help to control and calm of the mind. Regular yoga practice helps not only in preventing heart diseases but also assists in reducing the afflictions once heart disease is diagnosed.
