UDHAMPUR, July 8: Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Employees Association, Udhampur today held a strong protest demonstration at Court complex and demanded stern action against erring police officer who misbehaved and harassed a senior judicial officer.
Judicial Employees today suspended work in all courts here and held strong protest and demanded stern action against erring police officer who harrased and misbehaved Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Rafiq Chak when he was on way to his office.
Speaking on the occasion senior JEWA leader Ranjit Parihar expressed great concern over the behavior of erring police officer who despite showing identity card and disclosing identity by Judicial Officer ignored it and harassed the officer and threatened to lodge FIR. He added that it is quite astonishing that police is working like goons. And if they can behave in such manner with Judicial officers what could we expect from them for common masses.
He demanded action against police officer responsible for harassing the Judicial officer so that dignity of officer and institution could be maintained . Protesting Employees appeal Hon'ble Chief Justice J& K High Court and Director General Police to initiate inquiry and action against such officer as earlier as possible so that faith of common man could be restored .
Meanwhile Udhampur Bar Association also suspended work today to register their protest . Bar held an emergent meeting under president Jaidev Singh Slathia in which a large number of bar members participated . In the meeting a resolution demanding action against erring police officer who misbehaved with Judicial officer was passed.
Bar also submitted Resolution to Chief Justice High Court in this regard. President Bar shown great concern about the behavior of police officer towards judicial officer and demanded strong action against him . He appeal Chief Justice of J&K to initiate action in this regard so that dignity of institution could be maintained and no one in future dare to act like this.
