Jambu Zoo is reflecting the Cultural heritage of Jammu: Ch Lal Singh | | |
Jammu: DSSP Chairman and Former Minister Ch. Lal Singh today addressed a public meeting at Nowshera Basohli. Ch. Lal Singh while addressing the audience expressed happiness on the release of funds for the Jambu Zoo which was hanging since my resignation from the department. But, its unfortunate that the original cast of the project has been reduced to 50 percent, which needs immediate attention of the Administration. While addressing the gathering Ch Lal Singh said that initially an area of approximately 163.42 hectare of land was transferred to Wildlife Department at the location of just 8 kilometers from Jammu City on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and on way to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. He told the gathering that the estimated cost of the project was Rs 120 Cr and the project is to be completed by December, 2020. DSSP shall take up the issue with the Governor for the complete implementation of the project. Ch Lal Singh while addressing the audience said that Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group and society that are inherited from past generations. This heritage is maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit of future generations. While addressing the audience he said that Jammu is having a big culture heritage in the form of the language, monuments and festivals but the Kashmiri centric politics is hell bent on the destruction of cultural heritage of Dogras. Initially the Kashmir was having only 4 districts and Jammu 5 and the situation of today is also well known to everyone. The DSSP is committed to protect the cultural heritage of Jammu and also appeals to the people of Jammu that that they should join hand for the save mission Jammu which is initiated by Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan.
