HC grants 3 weeks to file ATR | Regulation of charges by nursing homes | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 20: The J&K High Court on Saturday granted three weeks to the government to file Action Taken Report regarding regulating and monitoring the functioning of nursing homes and private medical institutes/ health centres in accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Health, government of India and Medical Council of India. The order was issued in a Public Interest Litigation filed by the NGO, Citizen Forum Jammu through RK Chadha. A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Sindhu Sharma after hearing advocate Anil Sethi for the PIL and Sr. AAG HA Siddqui for the state and Adv Deepika Mahajan for the respondents state observed that by virtue of government order No.286-HME of 2010 dated 29.04.2010, the state government had constituted a Committee of Officers to examine the rates being charged by private clinical establishments/nursing homes/hospitals/diagnostic centers from the patients for treatment, diagnostic and other facilities in the state and recommend the reasonable rate lists depending upon the quality of facilities provided to them. However, no action taken report has been filed so far, the court said, granting three weeks time to file Action Taken Report. |
