VC JU inaugurates "Asian Football Week" of Special Olympics Bharat | | | JAMMU, July 20: J&K becomes part of "Asian Football Week" celebrations when Vice Chancellor of Jammu University (JU) Prof Manoj K Dhar inaugurated Asian Football Week in sports ground at Jammu University organised by Special Olympics Bharat J&K by enlightening ceremonial lamp to pay tributes to Eunice Shriver Kennedy, Founder Special Olympics International. Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma presided over while the guests of honour and dignitaries who graced are Advocate Purnima Sharma Dy Mayor JMC, Sohail Kazmi senior journalist, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba Director Sports Physical Education Jammu University, Esther William, President Sahyog India and founder member SOB JK, Dr Neeraj Sharma Spl Sect to VC, Pooja Malhotra Family President SOB J&K. In his inaugural address, VC was overwhelmed while witnessing the performance of Special Athletes in multicoloured sports attire with smiles on their faces. In his presidential address, Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma stressed that such like events are the need of the hour and society must support the sincere people and the organisations committed for the welfare of the society. In his welcome and keynote address, Mr Ashwani Jojra State President SOB J&K explained that Special Olympics Bharat J&K is celebrating "Asian Football Week" to promote "Social Inclusion" society for inclusion, acceptance and development of people with Intellectual Disabilities as entire Asia is celebrating this week from today under Special Olympics which is a voluntary organisation with motto to involve and promote the mental and physical health of Special Children through the medium of sports and health programs. |
