7/23/2019 11:13:57 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 21: The residents of Lower Qasim Nagar blamed previous MLAs along with administration for forcing them to live in unhygienic condition due to heaps of garbage, roads conditions, blockage of drain system and others.
Moreover, they said that the problems remain same which being faced by them for last many years but not a single person visit the area to address the problems.
Gurudyal, Satpal, Aman, Lovely Goswami, Deeraj Sharma, Bunty Bhati, Subash Chander, Joginder Pal and others told Early Times that no dustbin was installed by the concerned authority due to which the residents of the area are forced to dump households' garbage in open on roads. The drains were also filled with garbage and chocked.
"Our lanes and drains are in shambles while the drains passing near their houses are filthy. Wild grass has grown up on the garbage dumped on roads as well as drains which obstructs free flow of houses' water. Hence the drainage system is making our lives miserable. Even, no safaikaramcharis were deputed," they said.
It has been more than month the cleaning of lane has not been done and they ourselves do it. The drains have not been covered while at some places the grills laid on them have been removed. They also blamed that lanes in worst condition which digging by ERA and other agencies for laying sewerage pipes. Residents are fuming as departments involved in project have shown a casual attitude by not renovating the roads.
They added that the dusty roads have made their life hell and become extremely difficult to travel though these roads. By inhaling dust, it seems we will soon suffer from respiratory disorders. They said that they met ex-MLAs and taken up problems being faced by the locals but he didn't pay any attention towards their issues.
