Jammu, Aug 6: Hailing Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah's bold initiative of scrapping Article 370 yesterday and reorganizing Jammu & Kashmir after the passage of the Bill, I, Col J P Singh, Chairman Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan ESM Cell affirm that 5th August 2019 will be written in golden letters in the annals of History as day of recognition of the sacrifices of the soldiers who gave their precious lives for integration of J&K with India. For the veterans it is a day of redemption of their pledges to serve the nation because while serving in the valley the feeling among them was that they were serving 'a nation within a nation' where they were called Indians. While hailing the reorganisation of the state in the present form, I wish the Valley becomes Paradise at the earliest leading to another reorganisation of the state, promised by Amit Shah in the Parliament, after which Jammu will be an independent state. A Sainik Colony in the Valley has already been approved by the Omar Abdullah led last govt and land has also been identified for it. It is high time that the project sees the light of the day. |
