Opposition creating confusion, Centre looking into 'domicile-like' option for J&K citizens: Nirmal Singh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8: Asserting that abrogation of Article 370 is in the interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Dr Nirmal Singh on Thursday lashed out at the opposition parties for creating confusion over the matter and said that the Centre is looking into the 'domicile' like option to protect the interest of citizens of the newly created Union Territories. "Government of India is considering a 'domicile-like' option for land ownership rights and jobs to protect the interest of citizens in newly bifurcated Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir," Dr Singh here told reporters at the sidelines of tributes paying function of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj. "Rumors are being created by our opponents about land ownership and jobs in the Jammu and Kashmir to confuse the common masses after special status was abrogated, but believe me, the decision has been taken in larger good of Jammu and Kashmir and interest," he added.
