JAMMU, Aug 10: National Exhibition of Visual Arts by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) was inaugurated at Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA), Amritsar (Punjab) by Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Chairman, IAFA, Amritsar. Akhilesh Nigam, Chairman, A N Academy of Visual Arts & Former Regional Secretary, Regional Centre Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) was the guest of honour on this occasion while Shivdev Singh, President IAFA and Dr A S Chamak, Hon. Gen. Secy. IAFA and Mushtaq Ali Khan, Council 10th North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala & eminent Film maker, Director, Producer & Actor who specially came from Srinagar to attend this function were the special guests on this occasion. A large number of artists, writers and intellectuals attended the inaugural ceremony and visited the exhibition. While welcoming the guests, O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA informed that the works of 46 artists from eleven states of the country will be displayed in the show. The works executed in different mediums would display the panoramic view of the variety of art practices being done throughout the country adding that the exhibition would remain open till August 12. |
