Jammu, Aug 10: Natraj Natya Kunj, Cultural Society, Jammu (regd.) today staged 1st show of its multilingual play 'Ripped' at NNK studio Bakshi Nagar Jammu. The play is based on the poem 'Sabse Khatarnaak' by revolutionary Punjabi poet Avtar Singh 'Pash' and scripted by Karan, turned out to be peerless production under the directorial elegance of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Abhishek Bharti. A humanitarian and resolute reformer 'Pash' was a poet of conscience who fought for the rights of the credulous masses, articulating their pain in his poetry. An active fighter against wrongs, he wrote on common people and farmers of Punjab. He freely expressed his thoughts against wrongs in the society, and provided Punjabi literature new idioms. Pash is counted as one of the world-famous and appreciated poets like Nazam Hikmet, Pablo Nairoda, Faiz Ahemad Faiz, Garcia Lorka, Maxism Gorki, Railf Faks, Christopher Kadvel, Astrovaski, Muktibhodh and Dhumil. Director of the play Abhishek Bharti had delved deep into the profound depth of the poetry of Pash for this experimental and vivid dramatisation. Designed by Aaditya Bharti, an alumnus of Dept. Of Indian Theatre Panjab University Chandigarh, this one-hour stunning performance was based on the form of Theatre of the Oppressed. Actors who acted in the play include Tejan Bharti, Arun Bral, Manpreet Kaur, Chanda Pandey, Ritik Mahajan, Daksh sagoch, Shivam Chib, Vaibhav Sagoch, Pratham Sharma. |
