JAMMU, Aug 10: With the aim to eliminate menace of child labour from Jammu District and also to appreciate the efforts made by the Labour Department in the field of Child Labour Act, Sanjeev Gantlotra, Mobile Magistrate under Shops and Establishment Act,1966 has imposed fine on two business establishments.
A fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on Ashu Kumar alias Pawan of M/s Vaishno Dhaba, Maheshpura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar while a fine of Rs 20,000 had been imposed on M/s Chatty's Corner C/o Veekage Foods Corporation, Opp Vermani 168-A, Nanak Nagar, Jammu against the defaulter Madhu Jain w/o Kamal Jain, including 6 hours imprisonment to her. In the said cases, the challans were presented before the court of law against the erring defaulters and Labour Department was represented by Pawan Bhatti, Labour Officer Prosecution. Such types of imprisonment is a lesson to those who are keeping the child for performing different sort of works which is against the Act of Child Labour. |
