Bovine smuggling attempt foiled at Lakhanpur | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 3: A major attempt to smuggle 13 bovine animals into the State was foiled by alert officials of Toll Post Lakhanpur today on 2nd September, 2019. Vehicle bearing registration number JK02AE-9897 being driven by Sukhvinder Singh son of Rattan Singh resident of Miran Sahib, Jammu reported at the Toll Post at 11:45 PM for clearance. The goods were declared as Cattle Feed and as per the documents were found to be consigned by S.S. Road lines, Batala vide GR. No. 2691 dated 31-08-2019with the consignee address of M/s Hurail Trading company, Daesa, District Kulgam. When the vehicle was subjected to physical check, it was found loaded with 13 Bovine Animals being illegally smuggled into the State. The vehicle along with driver was handed over to Police authorities for appropriate action under law. The whole operation was conducted by the joint team headed by Excise & Taxation Officers Sandeep Gupta & Rohit Sharma, along with Excise Inspectors Javaid Iqbal & Dheeraj Kumar, Sub-Inspectors Sahil Choudhary & Raghunandan Mishra and the efforts of Rajesh Kumar Excise Guard under the direct supervision of Ashish Kumar Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur. |
