Indian Air Force inducts Apache helicopter | | | Early Times Report
Pathankot, Sept 3: Strengthening further the mighty Indian Air Force (IAF), the Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa on Tuesday inducted first instalment of eight Apache helicopters at Pathankot Air Force Station, while 14 more helicopter would be added next year. The Air Chief Marshal while addressing induction ceremony of the Apache Helicopter said that the Apache would replace AIF's existing fleet of Mi-35. "Alongside the capability of shoot fire and forget anti tank guided missiles, air to air missiles, rockets and other ammunition, it has modern EW capabilities to provide versatility to helicopter in a network centric aerial warfare", he said, while welcome highly supplicated Apache Helicopter. Dhanoa said that the Apache have been an integral part o numerous historic campaigns worldwide. "There aircraft have been modified specifically to suit the exacting standards demanded by IAF, I'm happy that the delivery schedule is on time with eight helicopter already being delivered", he said, adding that the IAF had signed a contract with the Boeing Company and US Government for 22 Apache Attack Helicopters. "The last batch of remaining 14 helicopters is to be delivered by March 2020. These helicopters will be deployed in the Western regions of the India", he added. |
