Veterinary Health Camp organized at Banj | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 7: Considering the hardship being faced by Gujjars & Bakkarwals every year, Indian Army unit at Samote under the aegis of 15 Sector Rashtriya Rifles / Counter Insurgency Force (UNIFORM) organised a 'Gujjar and Bakkarwal Veterinary Health Camp' at Banj (Altitude 12,050 feet) this year with effect from 04 September to 05 September 2019. Banj is adjacent to famous Simarsar Lake and is located six kilometers north of Budhal in District Rajouri. Veterinary Health Camp at Banj was conducted with a sole motive of providing a healing touch to the poor and backward Gujjar & Bakkarwal community, which resides in the higher reaches of Pir Panjal mountain ranges. Veterinary support to the live stock was provided by Army Veterinary Doctor and Civil Veterinary Doctors from Naushera and Rajouri. During the course of two days 'Veterinary Health Camp' at Banj, a total number of 3,917 livestock were treated. Conduct of Medical Camp by Army Doctor, Dangal Competition, Horse Race, Tug of War, Cultural events and Free Clothing distribution through 'Goonj' NGO along with 'Veterinary Health Camp' made the event more exciting and impressive. An approximate strength of 800 - 900 people (including 150 ladies) witnessed the gala event. |
