Navratra Festival 2019:Film personalities to judge finale of Devotional Song Competition

Katra, Oct 5: A panel of top film personalities would judge the final round of devotional song competition scheduled to be held on October 7, 2019.
Top personalities from film and media world, including Former Censor Board Chairman Pahlaj Nihlani, Managing Director Venus Records & Tapes Ltd. and film maker Ganesh Jain, Punjabi singer Mannat Noor, trade analyst and film maker Kumar Mohan and filmmaker Rishi Raj will act as Judges in the finale of this competition, informed the chairman of the competition, Rakesh Wazir here at the fourth day of the competition.
Director Rural Development Department, Sudarshan Kumar was Chief Guests on the occasion and inaugurated the programme by lighting traditional lamp in presence of singers Jaan Heer and Sunil Mattoo.
In first round of the competition Arshi Kalash from Udhampur bagged first position while the second position was held by Vikas Sharma from Himachal Pradesh. The third spot was clinched by Ridhima Vajpayee from Jammu. Of total 10 participants, 2 were from outside J&K.
In second round of the competition, the first spot was achieved by Simran of Punjab, the second position by Pinka from Jammu and the third spot was shared by Simran Simmi and Ashok Kumar from Punjab and Sunny Salim from Kathua. Of the total 11 participants, 4 were from outside J&K.
The top three achievers of the day were rewarded with cash prizes of Rs 10000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
The proceedings of the competition were adjudged by a panel of experts in music including celebrity singer Jaan Heer, Prof Anupama Sharma, Dr Surinder Kumar Sharma and Dr CL Verma.
Jaan Heer later enthralled the audience with his melodious voice and spiritual numbers. Former winner Shubh also sang devotional songs to engage the audience. The proceedings of competition were conducted by Chairman of the competition, Rakesh Wazir. Former winners of the competition Anshu Sharma and Sargam Sharma also gave live performances on the occasion.
The Grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition will be held on October 7 and the winners will be awarded with gold amounting to Rs 3 lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes limited. The runner ups will get gold worth Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50 thousand respectively.
The All India Devotional Song Competition is being organized by SMVD Shrine Board and Department of Tourism, J&K Bank and Shraddha Mh One with active support of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialist Hospital, Surya Milk, Tiwari Super Speciality Hospital Farokhabad, Pure Roots Herbal, Nidesh Builders Pvt. Ltd. Jammu, Divinity, 92.7 Big FM, Yog Ashram Trust, District Administration Reasi and the local community.
