Anger brewing in BJP after releasing of list for BDCs candidates | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 5: Although BJP has announced candidates for BDCs seats of Jammu province, party leadership has failed to accommodate aspirants of all groups and factions. Failure of the party leadership to accommodate all factions, some BJP Panchayat members are seriously thinking to contest BDCs elections as Independent candidates. After hectic deliberations BJP on Saturday evening announced candidates for BDCs seats of Jammu province. Within minutes after release of list, some aspirants aired their anger against procedure adopted by the party. It was all due to on-going factionalism in the party that BJP could not finalize candidates for four out of 20 BDCs of Jammu district only. After announcing candidates state president Ravinder Raina said For majority of BDC seats in Jammu region, candidates were already finalized and candidates for Kashmir valley and Ladakh region will be announced by the respective district presidents of the party. Realzing that announcement of candidates would fuel resentment within the party, Raina admitted that it was very difficult to finalize the candidates as majority of Panchs and Sarpanchs belonged to BJP and there were more than 5-6 aspirants for every seat giving very tough competition. He requested Panchs and Sarpanchs, especially to all those who were in the panel for BDC seats but not got mandate, to vote in favour of BJP candidates, so that the development of their respective areas will be done with all sincerity and transparency. Credible sources said that there is strong anger among aspirants who were ignored by the party leadership. |
