Jammu, Oct 5: Former Minister, BJP Spokesperson and Prabhari BJPMM Priya Sethi said that Modi govt is committed to empowering women and securing the future of children and she thanked Modi govt for the historical decision of abrogation of article 370 and 35A which will now give equal rights to women in Jammu and Kashmir this she said today while inaugurating the lifestyle exhibition on occasion of Karwa Chauth by Zone- by the Park at Trikuta Nagar Jammu
Former Minister while speaking said that BJP Government at Centre led by Narendra Modi has always given priority to women empowerment and for that various welfare measures and schemes for women folk have been launched by the Modi Government like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddh Account, amendments in Maternity Act, Abrogation of Article 35A, Poshan Maah (month) for ensuring a nutritious India, stringent POCSO law, freedom from triple divorce for women, 8 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries, decisions like sanitary pad in Re 1etc shows the commitment by our government to the protection of woman power and securing the future children of the country.
Former Minister lauded the efforts of organizer Divya Abrol to make it one stop shop for the ladies to fulfill all their needs during the festive seasons. The exhibition is consisting of 40 stalls and all are managed by talented women entrepreneurs where handmade and hand crafted things are on display.
Sethi said that for women empowerment financial independence is necessary and women are enterprising, they don't need to be taught, only need to be given opportunities to perform.
