Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 13: Pakistan-sponsored terrorists are making all possible attempts to sabotage the attempts of the government to restore normalcy in Kashmir where life has come to standstill since August 5 when centre reorganized Jammu & Kashmir.
Soon after the J&K administration announced that mobile phones will start functioning oin Kashmir from Monday onwards, the terrorists hurled a grenade at Hari Singh High Street at heart of the Srinagar city injuring 7 people. "The grenade was thrown at the street vendors and the common people. They were targeted to send a message that terrorists won't allow the normal life to resume," said an analyst.
It is in place to mention here that few days ago the terrorists hurled a grenade at street vendors in South Kashmir's Anantnag town. In the explosion more than 14 civilians were wounded.
In August month, the terrorists had shot dead a shopkeeper in Srinagar outskirts for defying their diktat to keep his shop closed. Terrorists had also attacked a family of an apple trader in North Kashmir's Sopore area for carrying on with his normal business amid threats to close down everything. A 4-year girl was among the 4 persons injured in the terror attack in Sopore. Two nomads were shot dead by the terrorists in upper reaches of Tral in South Kashmir in September.
According to the media reports, two shops were gutted in a fire incident at Maharajganj in old city earlier this week. Officials claimed that fire broke out due to short circuit but the shop owners had alleged that their shops were set ablaze by the miscreants. Similarly, handcarts of vendors and autos were set ablaze by the terrorists in different parts of the city during the past few days. And in addition to these incidents stone pelters and miscreants have been busy targeting the civilian vehicles and smashing their window panes.
An observer said, "The words of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan are coming true. During his speech at the United Nations General Assembly he had threatened of a bloodbath in Kashmir and it seems it has started as the terrorists sponsored by Pakistan are out to kill the common people to send a message that they have been directed by the bosses sitting across the Line of Control to unleash terror in Kashmir and soak it in the blood."
He said, "Violence being sponsored by Pakistan is an ample proof about the fact that people sitting in neighbouring country are not the well-wishers of Kashmiris and they want common people to die and give up their daily chores to satisfy the collective conscience of Pakistanis who can just preach hatred and violence."
