Ex Mayor JMC expresses anguish over downgrading of J&K State | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 1: Former Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Narender Singh expressed his strong anguish over the demotion of State to Union Territory and said that the day will be remembered as the darkest day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. In a press statement issued here, he said that those are observing the day to pay tributes to Sardar for Vallabhbhai Patel for his endeavor to merge the princely States in the Union of India have bifurcated and downgraded the state of Jammu and Kashmir into Union Territories just for their political grains. He further said that although people of Jammu have silently accepted the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, but downgrading their state to UT have not been well received and digested and the people of Jammu and Kashmir have undoubtedly expressed their feelings during the recently held Block Development Committees elections. While the people of Kashmir as usual, have refused to accept this abrupt change and have held their ground but the true Dogras of Jammu are yearning to see their Jammu and Kashmir back as J&K State which have been snatched away from them on August 5, 2019, he said. |
