As per the details available with Early Times, the scheduled General house meeting of the angry lawyers took place in the conference hall of District court complex Janipur Jammu which is attended by lawyers fraternity comprises of seniors as well as junior advocates including by President Bar Association Jammu. As soon as the meeting begins, the Lawyers in one voice insisted for revocation of SAC decision and demanded that the land registry should be transferred back to judiciary coupled with opposing the proposed shifting of courts to Raika forests. President Bar Association inform the house committee that during the recently held executive meeting, he brought the matter into the notice of respective advocates that within few days notification is being issued regarding the shifting of registry to revenue authorities and President took the name of some of the Advocate by substantiated his assertions before the lawyers fraternity. However according to the angry lawyers, some of the senior advocates who too have attended the said meeting castigated the President by dubbing that he did not allowed any one to speak before the lawyers fraternity which is the right forum to express one's opinion and President while adressing the lawyers deliberated that two core issue are dwelt upon-- one is the shifting of registry to the revenue authorities and the other one is about proposed shifting of the HC to raika forests. President further take the opinion of the lawyers with regard to the shifting of registry from courts and told the lawyers to raise their hands who want that the strike be remain indefinite till their both issues resolved and Majority of the lawyers were seen in favour of the strike be remain indefinite. Some lawyers told the Early Times that had President along with bar members would have been upto the issue, they would have submitted a memorandum to Governor before SAC decision to convey to the government that lawyers did not want registry to be shifted to revenue authorities then this situation would not have arisen added that but now as the Government has appointed a Registrars and Sub registrars for the purposes of registration it is to be seen whether the Government will revoke this decison and comes to the rescue of young lawyers in particular that is to be seen. It is pertinent to mention herein that President while addressing the lawyers admitted that he has to contest for the post of MLA and is member of BJP to which few lawyers express their resentment with the bar President while some even stood on their feet from chairs and enter verbal duel with President while at the same time few lawyers told the Bar President to give time to some advocates to speak on this vital issue concerning their livelihood. After announcing that strike will remain indefinite till both the issues get resolved, Bar President left the meeting hall along with his office bearers followed by all the lawyers disbursed off peacefully. |
