GGM Science college organizes lecture on teaching of Guru Nanakdev

Jammu, Nov 1: The GGM Science College organized a lecture on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the relevance in the modern world on the eve of 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Dr Jagjeet Singh read out the welcome address to invite the resource person of the event Dr. Ajeet Singh Nagra, retired Principal from School Education Department who has authored books on the life and teaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Dr Nagra elaborated the meanings of various verses from Guru Granth Sahib Ji to quote the significance of the thoughts of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in modern life. He started his lecture with mool mantra, "Ek Onkar, Satnam, Karta Purkh, Akal Murat, Ajuni Saibang, Guruparsad" .
He threw light on various events of the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji which inspire us to live above the political, geographical, ethnical and all other boundaries which are dividing the world on various lines. His lecture was thought provoking and inspiring, the students were spell bound by his lucid way of expressing the thoughts of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In the end Prof Mohinder Singh, Vice Principal gave vote of thanks to the resource person and the audience present in the event.
On this occasion a turban competition was also organized. The students participated in the event with great enthusiasm, a total number of 10 students took part in the competition Swarnjot singh and Keeratveer Singh stood first Baljeet Singh and Navetj singh occupied second and third position.
The whole event was organized under the able guidance of Dr Kaushal Smotra, Principal GGM Science College, Dr Sarbjeet Kaur Reen, Dr Rajesh Gupta, Dr Narinder Sharma, Dr Fraz Ahmed, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Dr Balwinder Kaur, Dr Vandana Khajuria and other staff members were also present.
