Women’s college organizes events on Guru Nanak Dev ji | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 8: In connection with the celebration of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, Govt. P.G College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu under the aegis of Higher Education Department, J&K has conducted series of events spread over five days from 4 November to 8th of November 2019. Gurbani Kirtan, community services, seminars/symposium. Swachta Abhiyan, humanity services, blood donation camp, distribution of Langar at old age Home and Guru Ka Langar were part of the programme. The objective of the event was to spread Guru's message of oneness, brotherhood, peace and harmony. The five days event culiminated today on 8th November 2019. On the concluding day, Shri Talat Parvez Rohella, Secretary to Govt., Higher Education Department graced the occasion as the chief guest while Prof. Yasin Ahmed Shah, Director Colleges was the Guest of Honour. The programme unfolded with lighting of traditional lamp amidst the recitation of "Pehli Pauhri" of 'Japji Sahib' the Guru's Bani. Dr Ravender Kumar Tickoo, Principal of the college welcomed the dignitaries and presented a brief report of the various events conducted during the five days celebrations. Skits on the life and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji were also staged besides recitation of 'Gurbani Kirtan' by the students of Department of Punjabi. |
