DC Jammu launches website on Jhiri Mela

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan today launched the website of Jhiri Mela http:jhiri.jammu.gov.in.
Among others who were present on the occasion include ADC Jammu Tahir Firdous, ACG Jammu M L Tasir, SDM Marh and Mela Officer Tariq Naik and DIO NIC Jammu Sanjay Gupta. This official web site has been designed and developed by NIC District Jammu.
It was informed that the website of Jhiri Mela is a step forward towards bringing the important cultural information of District Jammu on global map. The website gives information about Jhiri Mela and is a great information resource. It will also act as a major source of information with a passage of time as more and more information will be updated.
DC Jammu appreciated the efforts of Mela Officer Tariq Naik, DIO NIC Sanjay Gupta who have made all efforts in bringing up this website in a shortest possible time
The Photo Gallery of Jhiri Mela has also been placed on the web site in a very interactive manner and the users can filter the Gallery based on key words. Photo Gallery of past Jhiri Mela events has been provided for reference of general public. Some videos depicting the life and history of Baba Jitto in particular and Jhiri Mela in general have also been linked on the web site as an information resource.
On the occasion, DC Jammu informed that Jhiri Mela is organized annually every year where lakhs of devotees used to come from many states of the country to pay their obeisance to Baba Jitto for getting his blessing.
For this prestigious event, District Administration Jammu plays a vital role to makes all necessary arrangements regarding celebration of Jhiri Mela.
This year the key feature of the Mela is to promote the sports and cultural richness of the regions to make this event accessible among the citizens.
