Inmates of Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel block road, hold protest | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 18: Police restored mild Lathi-Charge on agitating inmates Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel Jammu who blocked the road outside Commerce College seeking the removal of hostel's warden and other pending demands. The inmates (students enrolled in various educational institutions in Jammu city) were on strike from November 1, on Monday evening they came on-road and blocked vehicular traffic. Meanwhile, Police personnel from Nowabad and adjoining Police Station rushed to spot and tried to pacify the agitating inmates. They were demanding the removal of overstaying Warden of the hostel, who according to them sitting in the same place for the past 10 years. The inmates also alleged that poor quality food being served. They were on silent protest for the last two weeks for prevailing mismanagement and seeking transfer of overstaying hostel's Warden and improvement in facilities being provided by the government. |
