Flouting rules, Retired JE re-engaged in Division-I of ULB Jammu

JAMMU, Nov 24: Defeating the purpose of transparency and accountability in the functioning of government department, a retired official is still working in the office of Division-I of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Jammu and holding crucial assignment of Junior Engineer for two sub-divisions of district Rajouri.
According to sources the official retired as Junior Engineer (JE) in 2013, but being blue eyed of the former Director ULB Jammu ensured that the official managed to get extension in violation of rules.
"His services were reengaged in April 2019 after a gap of around six years of his retirement that too without any notification and astonishingly he is holding charge of two municipalities viz Thanamandi and Nowshera", they said, adding that though there are in-services officials, sitting idle in the division without works for years together.
When contacted, Executive Engineer, Division-I of Urban Local Bodies Jammu, he remained inaccessible despite making repeated calls to him.
