| Special Squad of Drug Controller checks pharmaceutical products | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 10: A surprise naka was laid down at Lakhanpur Toll Post by special squad constituted under the supervision of Deputy Controller (Intelligence & Legal Cell) Poornima Kaboo wherein trucks carrying J&K bound consignments of pharmaceutical products were checked randomly and such consignments were scrutinized on spot. While scrutiny, it was found that the consignments were being dispatched from authorised dealers to the traders based in J&K under proper invoices.
Moreover, statutory drug samples of twelve formulations including Antibiotics, PPI, Steroid, NSAIDs etc were also drawn randomly from the consignments for determination of strength and purity during the said exercise.
These samples have been referred to Drug Testing Laboratories locate within the State for framing legal opinion to ascertain their quality parameters.
Meanwhile, State Drugs Controller Lotika Khajuria emphasized that such exercises shall also continue in future to ensure that pharmaceutical products are being dispatched in consonance with the provisions mandated under Act. |
