DPS Nagbani organizes Kho-Kho match | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: In the history of Indian games and sports, traditional games play a most important role. To review the forgotten traditional games of India DPS Nagbani today held a Kho-Kho match in the school with maximum participation of students to bring out the hidden talents and to improve the team spirit. The students from all the four houses participated with enthusiasm. The initiative of the match has been taken to create an environment for empowering the talents of students who will become the pride of our nation in future. This game is not only very physical, with lots of running, diving and squatting, but also brilliant for encouraging team work. Participants have to watch carefully, work together and learn how to recognize when a teammate should take out the pursuit. After giving a tough fight to its opponent, Ganga House won the final match. All the teams play with the spirit of sportsmanship. Students and teachers encouraged the players. R. K. Verma, Principal of the school awarded the trophy to the winning team and appreciated the efforts of the players and said that mastering how to play Kho-Kho is a real workout for the body and mind because it requires quick thinking on the part of the participants to decide the right player to take over. So it involves an element of strategy to play the game correctly. He also encouraged the students to take part in such co-curricular activities to remain fit and healthy. |
