DC visits snow bound Marwah valley

Kisthwar, Dec 15: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today visited far flung snow bound area of Marwah and took stock of post snowfall situation including snow clearance, connectivity, water supply, availability of ration, medicines and other essential commodities.
The DDC Kishtwar was accompanied by SSP Kishtwar, Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta, ADDC Kishtwar Mohd. Hanief Malik besides scores of locals remained present during the occasion.
During the visit, the people of Marwah area apprised him of various demands and problems being faced by them amid harsh weather conditions, like regular chopper services with concession in air fares from Kishtwar to Marwah, conducting of college exam (1st and 2nd year private) in Marwah instead of Kishtwar, demanded one gynecologist in health institution and regular stationing of all employees of key departments, providing and installation of VSAT's in panchayts at an earliest and restoration of BSNL tower etc.
All the genuine demands were patiently heard by DDC Kishtwar and on spot directions were issued to the concerned departments to look into all these issues for an early redressal on top priority.
Responding to the demand raised by the local with regard to non availability employess on regular basis, DDC assured the people that strict action shall be initiated against them.
He further warned the government employees to remain punctual in their duties and serve the poor people of Warwan area with utmost dedication. He called on the officials of health department to remain present on duty and ensure proper medicare is provided to the patients.
He directed the police and civil departments to work in tandem and close coordination to meet any eventuality during snowfall and ensure uninterrupted supply of essentials.
