| HC imposes Rs 50,000 cost on PDD for non-compliance of judgement | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 19: In a contempt petition filed by Sandeep Gupta, he had grievances that the judgment dated 24.09.2018 passed in LPA No. 128/2018, directing the respondents to consider the matter of selection to the post of Junior Engineer on contract basis and to re-determine the matter afresh, has not been complied with till date.
A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rajesh Bindal granted one last opportunity to the respondents to place on record compliance report subject to payment of costs of Rs 50,000. The compliance report shall be filed within two weeks from today. The costs shall be paid at the first instance by the Power Development Department, Government of J&K, which shall be recovered from the officers who were to comply with the directions passed in LPA 128/2018. Proof of payment of costs shall accompany with the compliance report. List on 31st December, 2019. Let copy of this order be sent to the Chief Secretary of Union Territory of J&K for information, the Court said. |
