Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22: After a vigorous struggle for many years at Jammu and New Delhi Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) with prominent Dogri institutions/ organizations like Duggar Manch led by Mohan Singh Slathia was able to get Dogri language included in the 8th schedule in 2003 vide 92nd Constitutional Amendment Act 2003 on 22nd December, 2003. DSS observed the 15th anniversary of the achievement as 'Dogri Manyata Diwas' by holding a colourful cultural programme at Sabha Bhawan on Sunday. The programme that started by lighting the traditional lamp, included a Dogri Kavi Sammelan, presentation of Dogri folk music by renowned artists. Various poets presented their poetic verses and were wholeheartedly applauded. The programme included 'Dogri folk songs' by Shamsher Mohd. Ghulam Mohammad party. Prominent among the poets were Th. Mohan Singh, Dr. Gian Singh, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Shivdev Singh Shusil, Usha Kiran Kiran, Dr. Sushma Rani, Sunita Bhadwal, Darshan Darshi, Bishan Singh Dardi, Kewal Kumar Kumar, Mangal Dass Dogra, Vijaya Thakur, Tara Chand Kalandhari, Mulkh Raj Bhamagi and Shamsher Singh. Asha Kesar presented a Dogri Lok Geet (Bhakh) that spellbound the audience. C. S. Katal and party presented melodious Baran. |
