He said Union Minister Jatinder Singh promised Rs 5 lakh cash and 5 Marlas plot each at safer places to the cross-border firing affected people but till now they have got nothing. He said kith and kin of those who have died in cross-border firing are still waiting for rehabilitation/ jobs to next of kin but neither they have been provided the job or 5 marlas plots at safe places by the government. Dr Sharma said that the most affected people during the present government regime are the farmers. He said RS Pura, Bishnah and Hiranagar belt of the state is well known for its basmati rice production. He said the rice/paddy which used to be sold at Rs 7000 / quintal in 2013-2014 now nobody is willing to buy even at Rs 2000-2200 per quintal thus leaving farmers of the belt in a lurch. |
