JAMMU, Dec 22 : Saksham Jammu Zila held a Divyang Adhiveshan today at Bishnah. Divyang Adhiveshan is held in commemoration of those physically impaired but specially-abled persons. The programme is especially held to aware the society that these physically impaired and specially-abled persons have a place of dignity in the society. Society has a responsibility to look after these physically impaired persons who are specially-abled and they should not be looked upon with mercy but should be cared and looked upon with human approach so that they live with honour. Pawan Dev Singh (President Saksham, UT (J&K), Surjeet Singh (Convener, Saksham, Bishnah , Avey Pargal Gupta (National Executive Member Saksham) addressed the gathering and gave detailed description about Saksham. They explained to the advance the aims and objects of Saksham which stands for 'Samridhi, Samta and Vikas'. Rehana Batul, Director Social Welfare Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion, focused on the relevance of Saksham and appreciated the efforts taken by Saksham. While Rakesh Magotra (Block Medical Officer, Bishnah), who was the guest of honour, appreciated the efforts and contribution of Saksham towards Divyang persons. Sandhya Dhar, Kritika and Surinder Raina, who despite their physical impairments have attained a status in the society, also spoke on the occasion and were honoured. |
