Jammu, Dec 28: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir Unit expressed its indignation over not announcing the holiday on September 23, the birthday anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, in the 2020 holiday list released after the formation of Union Territory. Party president J&K, Manish Sahni said that Maharaja Hari Singh merged Jammu Kashmir into India on 26 Oct,1947 and made it a part of India. Sahni said that the Maharaja lives in the hearts of the people of J&K, apart from this, he was also the ruler of visionary, economic and social reforms for public welfare. In 1929, he opened the doors of all temples in Jammu and Kashmir to Dalits. The erstwhile govt. continued to ignore nationalist people's aspirations, but the public was expecting from the Modi govt. that a holiday would be announced on Sept 23, but the holiday list of the 2020 calendar released by the Modi Govt. was not given on Sept 23. |
