Jammu, Dec 31: Abhishek Dutta, a Ph.D. research scholar at the Department of Botany, University of Jammu has brought laurels to the University by being conferred with the NASI-Springer Best Paper Award at the 89th Annual Session of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). The award was presented to him by Prof. (Mrs.) Manju Sharma, distinguished Woman Scientist and Former Secretary, DBT, Govt. of India, New Delhi in the presence of Prof. G. Padmanabhan, President NASI and Former Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru and Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM during the valedictory session of the "Symposium on Science and Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development" for the paper titled as "Allopathy to Traditional medicine: A shift towards plant based healthcare practices for curing some human and livestock ailments". The scientific event was organised at ICAR-NAARM Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad from December 21st to 23rd, 2019 by National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in collaboration with ICAR-NAARM. The award carries a certificate and a Gift voucher for the value of EURO 250 (two hundred fifty Euros) as a felicitation to purchase Springer e-books. Abhishek is pursuing Ph.D. from Department of Botany, University of Jammu under the joint supervision of Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Department of Botany, University of Jammu and Dr. Bikarma Singh, Scientist, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu. |
